Since our founding in 1980, Japan Energy Service Corporation (JESCO) has been engaged in the cargo handling services for the delivery and receipt of LNG (liquefied natural gas) at loading and discharging ports around the world. From the arrival to departure of LNG ships exporting and importing from all over the world, our professional staff act as safety coordinators both on and off the ship and between the ship and shore, helping to ensure the safe and secure delivery of LNG to customers.

The environment surrounding energy has been changing dramatically in recent years. The main issue was how to proceed with decarbonization in response to climate change, but geopolitical issues, including the situation in Ukraine, have led to tight energy supply and demand, and energy security, stable supply, and affordability have become more important. As a result, the idea of proceeding with decarbonization in a balanced manner while also taking into account environmental considerations has become widely understood. In this situation, the use of natural gas and LNG as important energy sources with low environmental impact over the long term is recognized as a realistic solution.

In particular, in the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, where energy demand is increasing, natural gas supply areas and demand areas are far apart, making it increasingly difficult to supply natural gas directly via pipeline. For this reason, demand for LNG, which can be transported safely and economically, is expected to continue to expand.

In response to these changes in the environment, we will fully utilize the experience and know-how we have built up in LNG loading and unloading services, and by taking on the challenge of decarbonization-related work, we will realize our company philosophy of “delivering safe and secure energy.”
